Lie

I met someone who said they only lie when they're lied to first. It seems that lying is seen as an aggression, and I get heated thinking about the idea of being lied to blatantly.

I wonder if this is because the default content of our speech is truth (almost everything you say is true, at least to the best of your knowledge).
