Rich

Despite everyone's dream of being rich, it seems that it's a dirty word. Not to mention the very rich or the 'filthy rich'.

It seems people describe those with a lot more money than them with a combination of judgement, contempt and jealousy.

I sense the root of this is an insecurity in one's self, with ones means and situation. A resistance to the unfairness of the world. The fear that less money means less worth. The hope that those who have more are deeply flawed in other ways, that no one 'has it all'.

But almost everyone has more than some others, even if not their specific community or peers. I wonder if some speak of me as 'rich'.
